It's the old story. Friend gets a dog when she moves into her new home, and a year later she has a baby. Now they are having problems with the dog (a corgi) and the baby who in now starting to walk. I would like to help them out with a good trainer suggestions. A couple of websites I have found...http://www.gentledogtraining.com/home.html or http://www.personablepets.com/ I tried googling behaviorist but it just pulls up trainers? - corgi has had basic obedience classes, but is showing some signs of aggression- this is from my friend, I actually have not seen the dog in those situations.

The list of trainers you get form google may either have a behaviorist on staff or be able to recommend one in the area.. Found another article for you here: http://dogtime.com/introducing-dog-to-your-baby-aaha.html

I don't know of a behavorist but is your friend aware that a corgi has a very strong instinct to herd. We had a corgi and were not aware of this trait until it got older and was determined to "herd" all the other dogs we have (chi's). It became such a problem that we finally had to find her another home (we donated her to a retirement home). She is the community dog and visits all the older people that live there. It turns out that she was great in this situation - we figured that she thought the older people were hers to take care of. I think your friend definetly has a problem, hope that a behaviorist can help - but their instinct is so strong it will be a difficult task. Good luck.
