Dear Dogster reader,

Almost two years ago, we invested numerous resources and rebuilt the Dogster community. With new hardware, software and personnel, we did our best to satisfy the many users who shared their thoughts, pictures, questions, and love for and of their pets with us and friends. It was a thriving community with many users. We hoped, however, there would be more like you.

Times and habits have changed and we are sad to announce that the Dogster community will be closing down on July 20, 2019.

Dogster magazine, and the associated social media sites are NOT shutting down. We encourage you to continue reading the content found in the pages of the magazine and the web sites, commenting through the mechanisms provided and sharing your ideas and comments with us and your fellow readers.

Instructions for accessing pet profiles were shared with everyone in 2017. The instructions can be found within the forum. AFTER JULY 20TH, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THIS CONTENT. And, effective immediately, we are no longer able to answer questions about the community.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to serving you through our magazine and website.

Get online to find the answer. Google the information about dog laws in the U.K. and something should come up. All the laws regarding dogs should be available to you. Plus, call as many shelters that you can and ask the question and you'll get the answer.

Yes there is a pit bull ban in the Uk, that includes purebred and cross bred dogs. I believe it is basically the same here in Canada. If you owned a pit before the law passed you were allowed to keep your dog but it needed to be muzzled at all times when out in public. It is against the law to breed, so neutering and spaying was a must. This is where the ban comes into effect, no more puppies, so when the dog passes away, no more pits in Canada. You are not even allowed to transport a pit into Ontario. This is a recent article from our paper. This is Ontario ban This is what I found from the Uk I see your dog is only 3 months old so you are legally not allowed to own this pet and the person who bred their dog could also get into trouble.

i have a pit bull too and did not know he was against the law ither and a lot of ppl told me the same thing . i did the reserch and found out that they are legal with rules regarding them. befor you give up on your pup look up the laws for your area and any that you visit on google or any online servise you may just have to have your pitt registered and insured that is all i had to do. some areas though the police have the right to shoot your dog on sight if he/she is without a musel and other areas they can just shoot them so look up your information the pit bull bread has become and hated race so please just know to be carefull

American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers and Staffordshire Bull Terriers (and mixes of them) are among the breeds banned or restricted in England. I'm sorry.
