Dear Dogster reader,

Almost two years ago, we invested numerous resources and rebuilt the Dogster community. With new hardware, software and personnel, we did our best to satisfy the many users who shared their thoughts, pictures, questions, and love for and of their pets with us and friends. It was a thriving community with many users. We hoped, however, there would be more like you.

Times and habits have changed and we are sad to announce that the Dogster community will be closing down on July 20, 2019.

Dogster magazine, www.dogster.com and the associated social media sites are NOT shutting down. We encourage you to continue reading the content found in the pages of the magazine and the web sites, commenting through the mechanisms provided and sharing your ideas and comments with us and your fellow readers.

Instructions for accessing pet profiles were shared with everyone in 2017. The instructions can be found within the forum. AFTER JULY 20TH, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THIS CONTENT. And, effective immediately, we are no longer able to answer questions about the community.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to serving you through our magazine and website.

Cheers,
Dogster

I'm sorry this has happened. And my answer will be kinda creepy. It sounds like Snowflake wasn't buried deep enough. Can you get your Dad to help dig a new hole? It needs to be deep, at least 4 feet, even more would be better. You would need to rebury her. Another option would be to pile a lot of Big rocks on top of her grave. Big enough that whoever is digging couldn't move them. You need to do something about it now. The digging will continue. Good luck.

I dragged a log and some big rocks over the grave of my cat when I buried her. They have to be big and heavy enough to prevent digging. I didn't wrap her in bags or anything else because those don't decay and I wanted her to go back to the earth. In your situation, could you bring in a bunch more dirt to mound up over the grave, and then a big rock or something to hold it down?

I agree she wasn't buried deep enough. My dogs seem not no mind digging around or under rocks and stuff. But if I bury a large piece of poultry fence over the area, they don't like to dig at it.

When Kurley was put down a few years ago, my Dad built a little box for him. It wasn't too big, but it fit the dog. The box was made out of wood, and only took about thirty minuties to build. Have you thought of that? We also barried him about three feet deep, and put rocks ontop as well. If you don't do the box next time, make sure that the hole is deep, the dirt is pacted tight, and rocks or something above the grave. I hope Snowflake rests in peace now.
