Boarding fearful Dog

Is it possible to board a fearful dog? My dog, Kano is GREAT with children but shy of adults. He’s friendly to the point where he’ll try and approach you, but he usually shys away. We’re going on vacation next month and we really don’t know what to do. He’s never aggressively fearful and usually gets over it given time OR around other friendly dogs. I’ve been trying to get him out and about. He only lets certain people approach him. We don’t really know what else to do. We don’t have anyone to watch him for us either.

Depends where you tend to board him.  But if you could take him to the place a few times before the drop off date... Let him meet the people who will be caring for him, til he gets to know them.   You may also want to ask the vet for a mild sedative that they could use if it gets too anxious while you are gone
