Weaning puppies

raggedrichraggedrich Posts: 1Member
Three months ago, my wife and I began fostering a dog from a rescue centre, a street dog who had recently arrived in England from Cairo. Two weeks later, we found she was pregnant and a week after that she gave birth to 9 puppies, which we have looked after. Now eight and a half weeks old, 7 have been re-homed, 1 will soon be re-homed and the other one we’re keeping along with mum. The two remaining puppies continue to drink mum’s milk and show no sign of stopping. Is there anything we should do to aid weaning, or just let nature take its course? Richard

Generally the mom will know when they need to stop... but I would think making sure there is plenty of puppy kibble available so they can eat when they want should help
