Safest tick medications?

Hello everyone!!
I'm preparing myself for next year's tick season,I live in the tropics so they sort of never leave but they become almost none existent by fall and winter. My question is,what are the best chemicals out there?.

I've read from Dr judy and other vets about Frontline being the safest because of it's short ingredient list. My girl had no adverse reaction to it last year. I only use it every 3 months or once in the tick season. I also use Picaridin as it's safe for dogs and permethrin on the beds. The house is treated every 3 months and I give all my pets Milk Thistle to keep them free of toxins.

What do you think? What products do you personally use or recommend?.
